Want old news? Well here it is. May 21, 2004 I'm going to London tomorrow. Because I'm not entirely sure how much I'll be able to update while I'm there, I leave you with a SPECIAL BONUS RANT! May 17, 2004 A little later in the day than I like, but I've added a new rant. I'll try to have a bonus rant to make it up to all of you. May 12, 2004 It's Wednesday, and that means a new Link of Fun!!!!! Also if you're curious I've played around some more with flash. May 11, 2004 So, I've started playing around with flash in order to bring more joy to you, the reader. Here are my results so far. May 10, 2004 I've got a new rant down in the rant section. Also here's something that might be of some interest to Beloit Seniors (and other possibly I guess). Note the various symbols and links on this page. May 5, 2004 It's Wednesday, and that means time for another Link of Fun!!!!! May 3, 2004 Updating a little later than I had planned. Hope you can forgive me, because if not, I will punch you in the face. (Not really though). Just read the new rant. May 1, 2004 Yep, it's that time of month again. No not that time of month. I mean its the time of the month for a new issue of Silven Trumpeter, and thus a new Starlanko the Magnificent. Check it out yo! April 28, 2004 As promised, the first ever Link of Fun!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (Not the copious number of exclamation marks denote copious fun). April 26, 2004 First the uneventful. I did a little housekeeping to make sure all the pages were up to date. (i.e. the writer page no longer says I will be going to Washington this coming April). (Except not really, I'll try to get to it tomorrow). Second the eventful but common place, there is a new rant up in the rant section. Lastly, and most historically, I have added a new section to the website, which I am currently calling Links of Fun. The idea is that once each week I will provide you, the good reader, with a link to something which is fun. "But Matthew J.," I hear you say, "I just went to the Links of Fun page and there is nothing there." Why yes, you are correct. There isn't anything there... yet. You see there will be a new Link of Fun every Wednesday, and as there has not yet been a Wednesday since the Links of Fun section was created, there is nothing there, but there will be this Wednesday, I promise. I even know what the first Link of Fun will be. I could give you the link now, but making you wait forces you to come back again Wednesday, thereby increasing traffic to the site, which is after all, my main goal in life. See you on the 28th. April 19, 2004 I'm back from DC, where, alas, my play did not win. I'll be updating the writer section to reflect that soon. April 6, 2004 I know you thought that there was nothing cuter out there than the Matthew J. Hanson.com teddy bear. Well there is now. Check out the Matthew J. Hanson.com bunny. It's so freakin' cute. April 5, 2004 I've stayed up until four before, but somehow, today it seems later than normal. Oh yes, the subject of my latest rant would be the cause. April 1, 2004 The world has just been destroyed by evil alien invaders. Ha ha! April fools. But seriously folk, there's a new new Silven Trumpeter out, and that means there's a new Adventure of Starlanko the Magnificent. March 29, 2004 I know it's Monday. I know it's tough getting through the day, but hopefully this little rant will get you through the day. I wrote it just for you. March 22, 2004 So, I know it wasn't up until sort of late in the evening, but I couldn't let Monday run its course without putting something in the rants section. Check it out you. In other news I have a sort of rant, but not entirely. You can see what I mean. February 16, 2004 New rant is up y'all. February 9, 2004 In other news, there is a new rant up, appropriately enough, it appears in the rant section. It is the very paragon of useful and entertaining. February 3, 2004 Just a quick note. In case anybody is planning to order something from the Matthew J. Hanson.com store for their honey for V-day (Valentine's, not Victory) tomorrow (Feb. 4) is the day the cafepress people say you should order by in order to guarantee on time delivery. Update a day for February so far. I wonder if I can keep that up. February 2, 2004 New rant. I was having so much fun reading the Silver Trumpeter magazine (especially the Adventures of Starlanko the Magnificent), that I just had to write about Dungeons and Dragons. February 1, 2004 I thought about waiting to announce it until tomorrow when I have a new rants, but I've been keeping this quite for over a month so... Beginning in February (i.e. today) I will be writing a regular serial entitled The Adventure of Starlanko the Magnificent, for the Silven Trumpeter e-zine. The e-zine is mostly deals with RPGs (role-playing games), but the fiction is accessible to anybody. I recommended the e-zine as a whole if you like RPGs, the fiction if you like fiction (with a fantasy/sci-fi leaning), and I especially recommend the Adventure of Stalanko the Magnificent if you like anything. For more information you can check out the writer page. January 29, 2004 I did a google search recently. Yeah check out that. Top five baby. I've found a little website I like called silven.com. It an RPG (role-playing game) related website, so if you're not into that it might not be for you. Oh, and you might read more about it sometime in the coming days. I have no idea why though. January 26, 2004 It's Monday. Well at least there is a new rant. January 23, 2004 I added a couple items to the Matthew J. Hanson.com store (teddy bear, clock, boxers, mug). Also my original news post evolved into a special bonus rant, so you can check it out on the rant page. Also if you are a Beloit College student, you may be interested in the 10-minute-play writing workshops I'll be leading. I have some info here. This will probably be the only mention of it I make on the main page. Maybe once again when we do the staged read. Oh, and I'll be switching servers over the weekend. I don't really know how it works, so things might be funny sometimes Friday or Saturday. Overall it should be for the best though. January 19, 2004 I, Matthew J. Hanson, am pleased to announce, that my play, Who Is Ruth, has one first place in the American College Theatre Festival (ACTF) 10-minute play writing competition. More details can be found on the writer page. Also at the festival, my fellow Beloit students Rebecca Goldberg, and Lillian K. Brislen each won the second place prize for stage-managing and directing respectively. I would just like to take this opportunity to point out that this was in competition with many schools that were over ten times our size. Also, in more standard news, as it is Monday, there is a new rant. I was tempted to write another self-indulgent, it's fun to have my work recognized, sort of rant, but I thought better of it. January 12, 2004 Couple of things. For one I added some more details about my ACTF 10-minute play on the writer page. Also as it is Monday, there is a new rants. And apparently cafepress is having a sale on ornaments, so I added one to the Matthew J. Hanson store. The other choice for a slogan was "Saving Christmas from zombie invaders... Because Santa's got enough troubles." If enough people tell me they like that one better, I could be convinced to change it. January 10, 2004 I now have two web journals! The will actually be the same thing, but as I see it, two is better then one right? Also I added a journal button to the menu on the left. Which journals does it take you too? I guess you'll just have to press it to find out. Oh, and one more journal related thing, I plan on updating it every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, but I will not be mention journal updates on the main news page, so you'll just have to remember to check them out on your own. And as it mention I plan to have a new rant ready every Monday for your reading pleasure. Also I've done a little minor house keeping. If you can figure out what it is you get ten points. December 24, 2003 Once again, I have posted a new rants. December 17, 2003 New rant. It's educational. December 10, 2003 Some exciting writer's news today. One of my 10-minute plays, Who is Ruth? was recently selected as a regional finalist for the American College Theatre Festival. You can read more about it on my writer page. Also, I'm so psyched about it being a writer, I've written a rant about it. December 5, 2003 I have finely crafted a new rant. More over I have begun work on a page specifically devoted to the student written/student directed play festival that my work will be appearing in. It's still missing one synopsis, but I should have that fixed soon. Also I have a choir concert Sunday at 4:00 pm in Eaton Chapel at Beloit College. It doesn't fit into any of my subpages, but I thought I would mention it. If you want you can see the concert, then go see the plays I wrote, and have a day full of low calorie Matthew J. Hanson goodness. November 28, 2003 I have written a new rant, about news to grave to mention here, lest it accidentally be read by the faint of heart. Oh, and as the links I mentioned I would put on the news page, their the "magic links" up at the top. November 25, 2003 You don't really need to bother going, but the actor page was updated to reflect the fact that I am no longer in "The Fan." More importantly I have written a new rant. November 18, 2003 First a small piece of business. I updated the writer page, because I now now the exact date and time of the Student Written/Student Directed plays. (Dec 7 & 10, 7:00pm). On the less business orientated side of thing, I have composed another rant, which like most rants. Can be found on my rant page. It contains important social commentary. November 17, 2003 Just a quick update. I added some stickers to the mathewjhansonstore. I decided to add stickers, because they were the cheapest item available at cafepress, and I wanted to make something for those people out there who want matthewjhanson.com merchandise, but don't want to shell out 15.50 for a shirt (or 9.00). There are three different stickers, two of which feature all new, and original slogans. Check them out, you'll be glad you did. More soon. P.S. I've already reached over 1,000 hits for November. That's twice the max for any other month to date. I rule. November 11, 2003 So I added a new piece of merchandise at the matthewjhanson store. I would like to point out however that that I only created this item after some significant peer pressure. I just try not to think about people actually wearing it. You can check it out here if you want to. And here's a rant in regards to a similar subject. November 9, 2003 First some minor updates to the writer page. I fixed the people's names that needed fixing. I also added a news archive page, so that the main page isn't so cluttered. Nor is that the only new section to matthewjhanson.com. One of my friends at school (Nathan Rowlett) recently suggested that I create some matthewjhanson.com t-shirts. Furthermore, he promised that if such shirts were created, he would purchase one. Well guess what? That's right, thanks to the good people at cafepress.com you can now purchase MJH t-shirts, the official t-shirt of matthewjhanson.com. They sport the stylish MJH logo, and come in a variety of sizes. It's the perfect gift for any occasion. While I'm here I should plug my friend Heather's site. It's pretty sweet. November 6, 2003 Well I do have news for you. First the bad news is that it seems like RPGpost.com, the home of my web column, is going to be shutting down. This means, for the moment at least, there won't be any new issues of The Gods Themselves. I may pursue other avenues for it, but as of now it is on hiatus. Okay, now for the good news. First of all there are my play what I wrote that. You can now learn more about them on my writer page. Also my brother recently showed me how to look at the logs for matthewjhanson.com. I was pretty excited. So excited I wrote a rant about it. I know it seems like I only update when I write a rant, but really I write a rant every time I update. Lastly as a few of you might be aware, I am technically graduating in the fall, but I was hoping to do an honors term (which is where I do a project and take classes for free). Well I have recently learned that my honors term was accepted. It's pretty sweet. October 28, 2003 First of all, just as a quick note, two 10-minute plays written by me, Matthew J. Hanson, will be appearing in as part of Beloit college's annual student written/student directed play festival. I will post more details on that soon. Probably tomorrow.
