What's New With Matthew J.?

Want old news? You can find it in the news archive.

This will be the last post made on the current incarnation of Matthew J. Hanson.com. Only three more days until the new and improved Matthew J. Hanson.com goes online. I know you all can barely contain your glee.

Today's preview: Blogging! While some might describe my previous actions at Matthew J. Hanson.com as blogging, the new and improved Matthew J. Hanson.com will utilize actual blogging software, which enables me to do nifty stuff, like more efficiently archive, blog on the road, or link directly to a specific post.

(P.S. The pages linked to are nothing like what the final design of Matthew J. Hanson.com will look like).

New Link of Fun! Yay!

First the good news. As today is Monday, there is a new rant in the rant section.

Also I have fixed the bug that prevented people from confirming their subscription to the Matthew J. Hanson.com email list. (Though I would like to remind everybody, that as it is still a preview nothing is guaranteed to work). (Even if it wasn't a preview nothing would still be guaranteed to work.)

Lastly, the bad news. Due to circumstances beyond my control, the announcement of the Super Secret Mystery Project will be delayed. I had original said that it would revealed November First, at the latest, but it looks like it might be pushed back even into December. Trust me, I'm just as disappointed as you are.

As promised, another preview of the New and Improved Matthew J. Hanson.com. This week: The Mailing List! That's you'll be able to receive Matthew J. Hanson related news right to your email! And it will be highly customizable, so that you only receive the news you want.

Note that you can in fact subscribe to the current list, even though it's mainly serving as a place holder.

New Link of Fun! (Or really Download of Fun!) and as promised, it's X-Tra Fun! Download it now. You won't regret it.

I've put a new rant in the rant section.

Thanks to my many readers who pointed out that the preview link was broken. The problem has now been fixed. In case you missed it the first time, you can still catch the preview here.

Well in my preparation for taking the GRE, I completely forgot to put up a Link of Fun. I'll have an X-Tra-Fun Link next week.

On the bright side, in every Friday between now and November fist, I will posting a preview of the new features that will be included in the re-launch of Matthew J. Hanson.com. This week, the New Look!

The re-launch of Matthew J. Hanson.com has been specifically designed to be more professional and streamlined, while still containing that "classic" Matthew J. Hanson appearance. Here's a preview. According to my focus groups the new look is "more mature," and "easier on the eyes."

Unfortunately with the new color scheme means that all my old Matthew J. Hanson merchandise, so I'm having a super sale. Everything must go! Prices have been dramatically slashed! And because I put my money where my mouth is, I purchased for myself one of these, and one of these. Get them before their too late.

First order of business. There is a new rant up. Happy Columbus Day everybody.

More importantly I have chosen to announce that November first will be the official launch date of the new and improved Matthew J. Hanson.com. I know it's hard to believe that greatest website ever can get any greater, but believe you me, it can.

Oh, and no, this is not the Super Secret Mystery Project, but the I also plan to reveal that project on November first at the latest. (Possibly sooner).

I know it's a day late, but I've still got a new Link of Fun! up for y'all.

New rant up on the rant page.

A new month means a new issue of Silven Trumpeter, and a new Episode of the Adventures of Starlanko the Magnificent. I would have updated the website yesterday, but I was in Soldovia. You can read about it on my journal.

New Link of Fun!

New rant. If you don't like it, go back to Cuba you darn commie!

New Link of Fun!

As promised my my new rant is up. Sorry I couldn't get it up on Monday.

My rant will be even more late than normal. Sorry. Should be up by Tuesday Afternoon.

Well, I don't have a traditional Link of Fun! for you today per se, but I do have two special treats for you instead. One is Link of Phun! Which I mainly enjoy because I didn't know it was an actual website until I typed it into my web browser. (Alas there's not as much content as I had hoped).

Also, if you want you can read my letter to the editor in the Homer Tribune. (Spin Doctor. Their title, not mine)

Well, it's no Super Secret Mystery Project, but I now have my first d20 product credit. I contributed some material to a pdf called Seeds: Super II. It's basically a collection of adventure ideas that for people running a super hero RPG. And at one cent per word, I'm getting paid almost three dollars! Plus I received a free copy of the book! A $1.35 value!!!

New rant. It's down on everybody's favorite rant page.

New Link of Fun!

Remember when I said the latest episode of the adventures of Starlanko the Magnificent wasn't included in the most recent Silven Trumpeter? Well the problem has been fixed, and order is once again restored to the universe.

Starting to get back into the swing of things. The rant is still not on time, but at least it's up. Later yo.

The bad news is that the Super Secret Mystery Project has struck another casualty, and I can't find a Link of Fun! for today. The good news is that I've now pretty much completed the Super Secret Mystery Project, so things should be getting back to normal (if there is a normal) very soon.

Also there's a new Silven Trumpeter out, but it does not seem to have an Adventure of Starlanko the Magnificent. Hmm...

No rant today, because I'm working on the Super Secret Mystery Project. I'll try to have one soon.

New Link of Fun!

New rant up in the rant section.

Hey! Look at that! New Link of Fun! On time and everything. How about that?

I've been negligent I must admit. Not only are my rants (like today's) not showing up until late afternoon, but I've missed a Link of Fun again. Maybe I shouldn't promise a new one every Wednesday.

On the bright side I'm tinkering with some bold new initiatives for Matthew J. Hanson.com. Hopefully those will pan out.

New rant in the rant page.

Politics seems to have permeated my soul so much, that even today's Link of Fun! is political in nature. But don't worry, it's still fun. It's a little reemergence of Minnesota's most missed senator, Paul Welstone. (But really the link itself is quite fun!)

So, I wasn't able to quite get the rant as linkified as I wanted, do to lack of certain hardware. To make it up to you, here is what looks to be the Greatest Event in Motion Picture History. (As long as it actually get released). Note who is playing Lucifer.

There's a new issue of Silven Trumpeter out, and thus a new episode of The Adventures of Starlanko the Magnificent. This month Starlanko meet a trio of spirits that try to make him change his ways in, "A Midsummer's Day Carol." I think it may be the best episode yet. If you haven't read it, or if you read it, or you haven't read it recently, I suggest you give it a try. (By the way, here is something lost in the web version. It doesn't allow you to play around with formatting as much as the PDF does.)

Also, there's an early version of a rant on the rant page. I haven't put in all the hyperlinks yet (because they may involve a fair amount of work). They should be up later tonight (by tomorrow morning).

Ah... I was so busy doing other stuff, that I didn't manage to find a Link of Fun! for today, but to make it up to you here's a picture of a cute child:

Wow that's cute! Look, she's about to grab the Pooh Bear cake!

In other news I the good people at cafepress are now allowing me to sell buttons and magnets. And they only cost $1.75 each! Wow! That's freaking cheap! Even with the dollar in shipping, that's still less than a fancy cup of coffee. If you've been waiting to show your support for Matthew J. Hanson.com, now is you chance.

Also available are magic apathy ball buttons and magnets. In order to have both I've added a magic apathy store. The magic apathy gray shirt and jersey are still available at the MJH store as well, and have opposite backside from the mab store.

New rant down on the rant page. It's up by two (GMT -5), that's not so bad.

New Link of Fun! Also just wanted to mention, that if you find any links that are fun, and would like to share them with the greater Matthew J. Hanson.com community, please feel free to e-mail them to me at matthew@matthewjhanson.com

There is a new rant up. Yes I know it's later than the early morning that I used to shoot for. However in my current situation I am not always able to get into the office Sunday night, so I might not be able to update until Monday morning. And of course my Monday mornings now start at -8 GMT.

You know what are Fun!? Links of Fun! and there's a new one. All right!

EDIT: I've started using style sheets. They are tres nifty.

There's a new rant up in the rant section. It's a list rant featuring a small fraction of my useless trivia. (P.S. Did you see how early I was with this one. I mean, mega early.

EDIT: I've changed one of the links in the rant, such that you can read about pie without registering. (I had long ago registered and thus forgotten is was required).

I know I've been bad. Today's Link of Fun! of wasn't up until after 7:00. But I'm really busy... really... no, not really.

It's a new, it's a rant, it's a new rant!

Okay, I admit. I forgot to do a Link of Fun! This week. I'm sorry okay. I just got a PS2, and I went on a serious Disgaea bender. And I could do it now but...

What in the world could that be!

Oh, it just the latest issue of the Silven Trumpeter, which contains the latest adventure of Starlanko the Magnificent. (By none other than Matthew J. Hanson himself).

Well, it's late, but I still got today's rant in before the midnight deadline. It's totally sweet.

Well, it's completed. (Or at least functional). The first ever Matthew J. Hanson.com spin off:

the magic apathy ball!!!

It's pretty sweet. You should check it out. It's even got one of those boxes that you can copy into your web journal, or what have you, and it will put in the graphic and everything. (Hint: all the cool people are putting it in their web journals). My only concern at the moment is that it doesn't have its own domain. Maybe later.

Oh, and in the spirit of rampant commercialism, I've gone ahead and added some magic apathy ball merchandise to the Matthew J. Hanson.com shop. You know you'd like to buy something.

There is a new Link of Fun! up.

Oh look! Another mysterious graphic. Could it be related to the first one. Could it be something else totally awesome? Find out this Friday, June 25.

New rant in the rant section. Fun games to pass the time.

Also, what is this strange graphic? Is somehow related to the new and exciting changes coming to www.matthewjhanson.com? I don't know, but I know all will be revealed this Friday, June 25th. Be there.

Best Link of Fun! yet! I'm proud of it, you should be too.

Posted a new rant down on the rant page. Short, but profound.

As promised, I have instituted the first of the new exciting changes on Matthew J. Hanson.com. Don't notice anything different? Trying hitting the reload button. Now do you see? (If not (6.25% chance) keep hitting the reload. It will work eventurally)

Yes, that's right, www.matthewjhanson.com now features random banners. So far they're just on the main page, and there's a little bit of inconstancy on the text under the main header. I'm going to work on that it a bit later. Today I was focused on quantity. There's 16 different banners. Keep clicking until you've seen them all (or not).

And that's just the beginning.

Also be sure to check out this weeks Link of Fun! In honor of the site addition, the also features random generation.

EDIT: I meant to thank the good people at www.computerhope.com for helping with the random code.

Ah, it feels good to be writing rants again.

After a period of inactivity, do to my absence from the country, Matthew J. Hanson.com will now be returning to its regular schedule. Plus, if all goes according to plan, there will soon be some new and exciting features.

First of all there is a new "Adventure of Starlanko the Magnificent," over at Silven. Talking swords and everything.

More soon.
