I had a dream recently where I was getting a new tooth put in. This is unusually for me, as I normally dream about losing my teeth. Not all my teeth, just one or two. It’s one of my more annoying reoccurring dreams (that and the one where I’m back in school).

I’ve had that dream so often that I finally decided to see if it meant something, so I consulted the Internet. Since (as I discovered) losing ones teeth is a common dream, there is a lot of information out there about it.

Apparently, if I dream about loosing my teeth it means that I am anxious about my physical appearance, I’m worried about loosing control, and (my personal favorite) my lies have been hurting somebody badly, and I will soon be found out. I "will soon be found out," on and off since high school.

So if that’s what loosing a tooth means, what does getting a tooth put in mean? I have a theory. After I woke up the side of my face felt kind of numb, like I had been sleeping on it, and it had... well... fallen asleep.

The teeth dream might be something akin to another dream I have from time to time. The dream where I have to go to the bathroom, and I keep going, but it doesn't seem to help. Yeah, I figured out that one means I should wake up so I can go to the bathroom.
